In
2007, we planned the following litters; DC Ahmahr Nahr's
African Dancer bred to DC Astarte's Sultan Siete With Pips CD CGN VB and; Champion Ahmar Nahr's
Lady in Red JC bred to GCH Ahmahr Nahr's Jake Jamuel to Mibre JC CGN.
In addition, Siete (DC Astarte's Sultan Siete With Pips SC CD
CGN VB) has been bred on multiple occasions and we are
expecting stud fee puppies in return.
The most exciting of these breedings is we finally have
been able to breed Siete to Ahmar Nahr's Sagitta SC (Fauna)
In
addition, a Jake daughter owned by Rene Wise, "Boo" has been
bred to a "Will"
son, and it is our hopes that Michelle Smith Barbour and I
will be able to get a "
pure
for red" show quality male out of this litter, as
we have been wanting one for so long.

Siete and Dancer have previously been bred and produced
dynamite puppies. Ahmar
Nahr's Just Call Me Madam JC has been a top twenty (20) dog in
the US in the last two (2) years and has been named a World
Winner Basenji Bitch, at the World Show in Mexico City 2007.
Ahmar Nahr's Mardi Gras Flambeaux Man (Beaux) is the
FCM Junior Champion Basenji and
titled in FCI, Sicalam, the US, Canada, Puerto Rico,
Costa Rica, Mexico, Columbia, Guatemala. Beaux is a striking dog. He made his first
appearance in the International Specials Ring in October,
going group 1 in the tough spitz and primitive group on the
day of National Championship in Costa Rica.
Madam was also named Sicalam Joeven in 2005.
The
accomplishments of the parents in these litters, Jake, Dancer,
Lady and Siete, is well chronicled on this website.
The
Lady -Jake puppies were born on Dec 4, 2007.
The
Dancer -Siete puppies were born on December 6,2007.
There
are six (6) Lady Jake puppies.
Two (2) are brindle and four (4) are red and whites.
Of the brindles one (1) is a male,
one (1) is a girl. The
red and whites is one (1) girl and three (3) are boys.
Out
of the Siete Dancer litter three (3) are tri colored and one
(1) is red and white. The red and white is a girl, the tri
colored puppies are all males.
The
Siete- Fauna litter born Christmas day.
The
Boo litter is expected, assuming we are lucky and Boo is in
whelp at the end of January.
2007
brought GREAT NEWS from the puppies whelped in 2006.
Ahmar
Nahr's High Desert Tiger Lily (a Jake/Dancer daughtter) finished her Canadian
Championship, has 1 major and 12 points on her AKC.
She is also titled in Costa Rica and Puerto Rico.
Ahmar
Nahr's Kokopelli Dancer ( a Jake/Lady daughtter) received her Canadian Championship the
Summer 2007 and has 11 points and both majors on her AKC title.
Ahmar
Nahr's Sultan's Lady (Siete/Lady) received her Canadian title in Summer 2007
and already has points toward her AKC Championship.
These
pups formed the center piece of the two week Island Circuit on
Vancouver Island in the Summer 2007, with the Basenjis entry not
less than seventeen (17) on each day.
We finished titles on four (4) Basenjis and nearly
finished a 5th, Champion Ahmar's Nahr's Blue Chip.
Chip's
mom missed an entry and was a point short at the end of the two
week Island Circuit. However,
Chip finished on the next available circuit.
During that two week circuit, no less than nine (9)
Basenjis received their Canadian Titles.
We had a great party on the island.
In
Mexico City, the Michelle Smith Barbour's
puppy out of Fauna, mentioned above, was the group pup winner.
The other dog out of that litter another brindle has
finished his Canadian Championship and his UKC Title.
2007
has been a particularly interesting breeding year as for the
first time a new fanconi syndrome genetic test was available.
We do extensive health testing, for the hips, thyroid
test, CERF test, HA test and now the fanconi marker test.
We were pleased to find out that our choices in our
breeding program had been sound.
We had not bred any affected pups.
This was cause for great celebration.
We
are still hoping for the dynamite pure for red male to begin his
puppy career either in May in Uruguay at the Los Americas and Caribbean
Section Championship Shows or at the Sicalam Shows in Peru in
October. This year we are planning taking up some of the foreign
invitations we received while we were out showing Jake
and visiting some of our old friends in other countries.
All
our Puppies receive their Microchip Identification.
Breeding
a Good Dog is part Science and part Art.
Regardless
Puppies are a Joy.
